2018 Race

It is April already and we are preparing for the 2018 Triathlon.  There are tons of new and exciting things being added to the race this year.  The big news this year is the addition of a duathlon to the events.  A duathlon is biking and running.  This event is specifically for those that don’t have the time to train for the swim portion of the race.

Also with a new year is a new bike route.  This year’s bike route will be a tad longer than last year’s route.  However, the road conditions will be better on the new route and we hope you will appreciate the new scenery (as it goes flying by).

Indiana Beach is joining us again for 2018 as a sponsor and they are looking for ways to spice up the race.  This year they will be offering day passes to the park for participants and a discount on IB accommodations.  However, the big news is the finish to the run will be on the Indiana Beach Boardwalk.  More to come on this later.

In addition to Indiana Beach sponsoring we are happy to announce the sponsorship of Pampel and Associates, Inc. and Harmon – Mcclintic Insurance.  A big thank you to all our sponsors

Finally, the whole purpose of this event is to raise funds for the White County Council on Aging to assist with purchasing a new van.  This van helps provide a much needed method of transportation to the citizens of White County.  Please help Rotary raise funds towards this great project.

Monticello Rotary is a service club in Monticello, Indiana.  Proceeds from this triathlon help our club support our service projects.

Our motto is Service Above Self

The Rotary Club of Monticello is all about service to the community, country, and to the world. This is accomplished through Five Avenues of Service:

1.       Club Service focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning of the club. A thriving club is anchored by strong relationships and an active membership development plan.

2.       Vocational Service encourages Rotarians to serve others through their vocations and to practice high ethical standards.

3.       Community Service covers the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in its community.

4.       International Service encompasses actions taken to expand Rotary’s humanitarian reach around the globe and to promote world understanding and peace.

5.       Youth Service recognizes the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development activities such as Rotaract, Interact, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, and Rotary Youth Exchange.
